THE PROJECT
A fan film set in the universe of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, with Jessica Armanetti as Higgs and Fabio Meschini as Sam. The goal was to capture the atmosphere and visual language of the game at a professional production standard — in a total of just ten days of production.
The film reached Hideo Kojima himself, who watched it and publicly reshared it, acknowledging the quality of the work.
HOW IT WAS MADE
Principal photography was shot on green screen, with the actors performing on a minimal but carefully planned set. In parallel, the entire sci-fi environment was built in Unreal Engine 5, with a level of detail and art direction able to stand next to the visual direction of the original game.
At the heart of the production was the camera tracking system: the physical camera movements on set were captured and faithfully replicated inside the virtual scene, guaranteeing perfect perspective coherence between the actors and the digital world. Compositing then brought every element together into a final result that is remarkable given how short the production window was.
